Mornings With Wendy

I was out for a walk by the harbour near my home when I found a incredible little reserve overlooking Lavender Bay on Sydney’s North Shore. I had unknowingly stumbled upon Wendy’s Secret Garden, which might be the worst kept secret in Sydney.
Couples sat on the grass overlooking the harbour, while people read books and newspapers on the neches under the beautiful sprawling Moreton Bay Fig tree. A series of terraced gardens cascade down to a disused

train line by the waterfront, where families enjoyed picnics in the shade.
I resolved to return at sunrise, despite not finding any photographs online that matched what I imagined would be a beautiful scene.
In the shadows of the morning light I bracketed two frames for the sunrise and the beautiful garden, and ended up with this incredible photography, with strong silhouettes of the sprawling fig tree and harbour bridge against the burning sky.
