Luna Lights

I captured this image months before I even thought it was worth editing. It sat amongst an unremarkable set of photos I captured on an evening photowalk around Milsons Point.
I was sad that my camera hadn’t translated the image I wanted and it wasn’t until I entered some black and white competitions that I revisited the photo and unlocked its potential and realised that initial vision: the famous entrance to the
park starkly lit against a pitch black background.
To me the image appears more like a sketch or than a photograph; the outline of the towers and the individual lights etched into the black background.
Proudly, this photo received 3rd place in the Crown Artists Initiative, black and white category, and commended for the 2019 Mono Awards.
